SEMI SUBMARINE
Discover what’s beneath this beautiful island without even dipping your toes into the water. The semi submarine excursion allows you to get a closer look at the coral reef and the teeming marine life. While the upper body of the vessel remains above the sea surface at all times, the bottom part is 1.3 meters below and, through large windows in the underwater hull, enables you to enjoy spectacular views of the underwater ecosystem, thus creating the illusion of a real submarine dive. This is the only vessel where you sit below the sea surface and feel like you are diving.
Dolphin Quest
Cap off the day on a sunset cruise with the bonus of spotting a group of playful dolphins! As dolphins are wild creatures, there is no guarantee of seeing them. However, more often than not, you’ll be rewarded with the sight of large pods of dolphins swimming together. See them play in the bow wave of the boat and watch them as they jump out of the water and spin in excitement. There is no doubt that you’ll be in awe once you’ve witnessed these lively and intelligent creatures swimming in front and alongside the boat.
SNORKELLING TRIPS
Come and pick up your snorkelling gear at the Dive Centre and start your snorkelling adventure! Ask our friendly staff for the schedule of snorkelling trips. Every day, depending on your interest, we set out for different snorkelling spots; turtle quests, reef sharks, stingrays, nurse sharks, and manta snorkelling. If you want to go further out, we can arrange a private whale shark snorkelling trip to the South Ari Atoll. You may also choose to stay close and do guided house reef snorkelling in the morning or at night for a more exciting adventure.
Traditional Sunset Fishing
As the day slowly turns to night, you can cast your lines without a rod into the sea under the expert guidance of our Maldivian fishing experts, dressed in a traditional sarong. Traditional Maldivian line fishing is an art form, one that local fishermen have been practising for generations. Head out to sea just before sunset on this uniquely Maldivian fishing adventure and learn a new skill. Refreshments are provided on board during the trip. For a supplement, your catch can be professionally prepared by our chefs in the restaurant on your return to the island.
BIG GAME FISHING
Venture out onto the ocean in search of big game, including wahoo, marlin, and tuna, on board one of our powerful vessels, specially designed for big game fishing in the Maldivian waters. You can either start early in the morning or in the afternoon, and you have a choice of trolling, popping, or jigging. Our big game fishing boat is fully fitted with modern and high-quality fishing equipment. Refreshments will also be provided to ensure you are comfortable during the whole trip. There’s nothing like the thrill of reeling in a big catch and then celebrating on board with your newfound friends.
LOCAL ISLAND VISIT
Experience the real Maldives and the local way of life when you visit an inhabited local island. The trip includes sightseeing of interesting places on the island. Here, you’ll get the chance to take a peek into the local houses, and maybe even get invited for a tea or coffee by friendly locals. As you take a stroll down the sandy streets, you can watch the fishermen bringing back their catches of the day, women playing Bashi, children on their way to school, and men hanging out in local coffee shops and cafes. Discover a different world, a laid-back pace of island life away from the luxury resorts their country is famous for.
SUNSET CRUISE
As the day comes to an end, it’s time to slow down and take a pause from an active day. Take your special someone on a romantic sunset cruise on board a traditional dhoni. Admire the stunning sunset views while in the middle of the Indian Ocean as you take in that fresh sea breeze. Enjoy a refreshing sparkling wine and canapes as you laze and cruise around. There’s no better way to cap off your day than spending it on a relaxing cruise with your special someone.
Coral Ranger Program
Best Dives Maldives is breathing life back into its house reef through a dedicated coral regeneration project.
